Database description

Amplified is a simpler and more powerful way to search and share patent information. Amplified has developed an accurate AI patent search. IP professionals are able to eliminate 50-80% of the time they used to spend searching while also getting more confident and complete results. And because it’s easy to use, R&D and product teams are able to benefit from patent information. Time-savings and high quality results are the product of two things: Amplified’s industry-leading AI that understands patents like a person and an easy-to-use interface that intuitively puts the user in control of that AI.

Similarity search

Amplified is known for its industry-leading AI search but also includes full support for complex boolean queries on par with any leading patent database. AI-based searching returns results in seconds using simple text of any length or an existing patent number. You can switch between two modes: Classic semantic search and concept similarity Neural search. Both AI and boolean searching work across multiple languages including support for non-latin character search. Amplified's allows you to control and investigate search results quickly by combining AI and boolean searching for an intuitive and efficient search experience. Search history is supported for both AI and boolean search as well. Machine-assisted review tools such as robust keyword highlight and automatic relevant passage display are also included.

Classification
Classifications
Cooperative Patent Classification
FI/F-Terms
International Patent Classification

Classifications can be searched as boolean-only or as filters combined with AI-based sorting. Searching and filtering includes support for wildcards and for automatic inclusion of sub-classes. Definitions and parent/sibling/child class codes can be searched, viewed, and navigate directly in the app.

Value-added data

Harmonized titles and/or abstracts
Standardized applicant names
Standardized ID numbers

• In addition to detailed legal status event history, the current status is mapped to dead or alive for quick screening and filtering (assumes alive if unknown or unclear)
• Forward citations
• Standardized assignee names
• Independent/dependent claim labelling and hierarchy

Create interactive maps on-the-fly to visualize search results by conceptual similarity. Similar patents cluster together automatically. The map can be colored and customized. For example, coloring patents by assignee to visualize a comparison between two companies or customizing the field by adding keyword and class code filters to focus on a slice of the data. Standard statistical charts such as assignee counts, time series filing trends, and more can be created as well.

Alerts

Search results

Alerts can be setup and customized on individual patents to notify about changes in legal status or new similar publications. Alerts can also be created to monitor new publications by a competitor or in a particular technology area of interest. Optionally machine learning can be used to semi-automate the review of new publications to determine relevancy and add custom tags.

Shared workfiles

Amplified allows secure sharing of patent research. For collaboration users can work together on a search project to identify relevant results, annotate them, and discuss via chat. For report delivery, specific results can be shared along with analysis and comments. Free users are able to see shared patents, comment on them, and join chats for discussion. For larger organizations multiple workspaces can be created to manage and restrict sharing and collaboration.
